How to import time series data
If you have data that has a column with dates and a column with numeric data, Silk will recognize it as time series data before importing the data. After importing, Silk will plot the numeric data on a time series chart.
Here is an example dataset that Silk recognizes correctly:
You can also add multiple dates, if you add another column that tells where the number belongs to. Take this dataset for example:
Silk will turn this data into this chart:
Since this dataset has multiple entries on the same date, it will show a line for the design department and one for the engineering department.
- Use datasets with one date column, and one or more numeric columns
- If you have rows with the same date, you need to add another grouping column to make them unique
- Make sure your dates are formatted as YYYY/MM/DD or DD/MM/YYYY
